Richard D. Fain, Chairman and CEO of Celebrity’s parent company Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd., noted that the ship’s arrival “book-ends a major chapter in the growth of Celebrity Cruises. It’s the culmination of years of dreaming, designing and dedication to bring this magnificent ship to life. A new era is truly upon us.”

President and CEO of Celebrity Cruises, Lisa Lutoff-Perlo, noted that Celebrity Edge’s debut “has been more than four years in the making.” Lutoff-Perlo stated, “collaboration and effort between teams across the world all comes together in this incredible moment.” With the debut of Celebrity Edge, Lutoff-Perlo said, “we are sailing into the future, literally and figuratively.”

T25 is the first terminal designed exclusively for the Celebrity brand. Broward County and City of Hollywood officials attended a ceremony marking the T25’s grand opening. The new cruise terminal boasts stunning design plus unique technology, such as Expedited Arrival. T25 will also offer The Retreat guests separate entrance to the suite-class guest sanctuary.

The new vessel’s inaugural winter season will alternate seven-night eastern and western Caribbean cruise itineraries. In spring of 2019, Celebrity Edge will offer Mediterranean voyages with a range of seven- to 11-night sailings.

Bookings for Celebrity Edge are now open. A sister ship in the Edge series, Celebrity Apex, will debut in 2020. Two additional Edge series ships will follow in 2021 and 2022.
