Ballet on the Boat

When it comes to the so-called “high arts” is there anything more gay than ballet? Hot guys, tights, dance cups, incredible thighs and wonderful dancing. What else do we need? LGBTQ cruise travelers now have a chance to combine their cruise travel passion with the art of ballet.

Cunard, the only line offering regularly scheduled transatlantic service, has teamed up with English National Ballet for what they’re calling “Dance the Atlantic.”  This crossing on Queen Mary 2, August 11-18 from South Hampton to New York, features many ways to interact with the ballet.

You can meet the 6 principal dancers…sign me up for that!  Watch morning ballet classes, observe afternoon rehearsals, and of course attend performances. The Royal Court Theater will host extracts from Swan Lake, Le Corsaire, and a contemporary piece entitled Dust.

Guests can even take dance workshops, but the only stretching we’ll be doing is reaching for the desserts on the buffet table. Also available will be dance- themed documentaries and films.

So see if your tights still fit, then contact our cruise travel expert Adam Martindale to book this unique cruise.
