Norwegian Cruise Line released new information about the new Norwegian Bliss. Since MeetMeOnboard will sail aboard this ship for our 2018 gay-group cruise, we were excited to learn about the ship’s extensive options for dining, drinking, entertainment and nightlife.
The much-anticipated custom-built new vessel, which will launch in June 2018, will sail Alaskan, Caribbean, and Mexican Riviera itineraries. Guests can take in spectacular views on The Waterfront, an outdoor promenade designed to enhance guests’ connection to the ocean. Norwegian’s sixteenth ship will boast two spacious pools and six infinity hot tubs scaling the side of the ship.
At night, Norwegian Bliss guests can enjoy live entertainment, deck parties and casino gambling with slot machines and table. In a first for Norwegian, the casino will now offer a smoking and a non-smoking casino to cater to all guest preferences.
Food and drink
Bliss dining and drinking options will range from signature Norwegian favorites to exclusive new concepts.
Guests can enjoy in authentic Texas barbeque at the all-new Q Texas Smokehouse. Live contemporary country pop music performances will take place here nightly.
The menu at Los Lobos will offer Mexican favorites like fresh guacamole prepared tableside, al pastor tacos, and enchiladas de mole. Plus, Los Lobos will serve handcrafted margaritas made with private-label Patron Barrel Select, Norwegian’s own tequila blend.
Coco’s, a new à la carte dessert venue, will boast an oversized, enclosed chocolate fountain.. Located on deck 6 in the heart of the ship, 678 Ocean Place, Coco’s menu will include truffles and crepes, plus fine coffees and teas.
In a nod to the ship’s homeport of Seattle, Norwegian Bliss will also feature a full-service Starbucks® store on board serving the brand’s famous coffees, teas and snacks.
À la carte restaurants on Norwegian Bliss will encompass a wide range of cuisines:
- French fare at Le Bistro
- the tastes of Tuscany at La Cucina
- the finest fresh seafood at Ocean Blue
- global fusion cuisine at Food Republic
Onboard drinking options will include the A-List Bar, The District Brew House and The Cellars, A Michael Mondavi Family Wine Bar. Norwegian Bliss’ beverage program will also offer a selection of local craft cocktails developed celebrity mixologists.
Play all day
Bliss guests can race on the largest competitive go-kart track at sea. The two-level electric car race course will be nearly 1,000 feet long. The electric cars will have four speed settings, accommodating novice to advanced speed racers. The cars will reach speeds of up to 30 miles per hour with “turbo boost” options available on each lap. Although the cars will operate silently, drivers can listen to race engine sounds piped in through speakers in the headrest.
Guests can also compete in an open-air laser tag course designed to look like an abandoned space station. State-of-the-art laser guns will enable players to “tag” family and friends.
The ship’s Aqua Park will include two multi-story waterslides. The high-speed Ocean Loops free fall slide with two exhilarating loops, one extending out over the side of the ship. Guests can race side-by-side on inner tubes on the tandem Aqua Racer slide.
“Norwegian Bliss will no doubt be our most incredible ship to date,” said Stuart. “We have elevated Norwegian Bliss’s onboard experience to new heights, bringing the best features from across our fleet plus exciting new first-at-sea activities like the largest race track and new dining concepts to create the ultimate cruising experience.”
Our Take: Norwegian’s newest ship sounds amazing. Bliss will make an ideal setting for our 8-day gay-group cruise to the Mexican Riviera departing Oct 5th, 2018. Hope you can join us.
